Admissions
In Bexley, the local authority makes decisions about admitting children to community schools into Nursery and Reception. In-year admissions are made via the local authority and places are offered by the school according to the availability of spaces.

Reception Parent/Carer Open Events for September 2027
- If your child was born between 01/09/22 and 31/08/23 they are eligible to start Reception in September 2027.
- Parents are invited to apply for places in our Reception for September 2027 and are advised to consult the Bexley Primary Admissions 2026/2027 for guidance using the above link.
- Belmont will admit 60 pupils into the two Reception classes each September.
- Applications for Reception places must be submitted to Bexley admissions.
We are holding three open events for prospective parents. Each session will include a presentation led by the Headteacher, a tour of the school, an opportunity to meet our pupils, and the chance to meet members of the Senior Leadership Team and ask any questions you may have. The open events dates are listed below:

The deadline for Reception applications is 15th January 2027.

Reception September 2027: Stay and Play Sessions
Play & Stay Sessions: Experience Life in Reception at Belmont Academy
Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make. Whilst our parent open events provides you with a glimpse of daily life, our Play & Stay Sessions are designed to give you and your child the opportunity to experience it for yourselves.
Following attendance to one of our open events (see above), we invite prospective Reception families to return for a special session in our Early Years setting where children can explore, play and learn alongside our experienced staff. The sessions are only offered to families with a child starting school in September 2027.
During your visit, you will:
- Spend time in our engaging Early Years environment.
- Explore our indoor and outdoor learning spaces.
- Take part in a range of exciting, age-appropriate activities.
- Meet our wider Early Years team and members of the Senior Leadership Team.
- See first-hand how we nurture children's confidence, independence and love of learning.
- Learn more about our approach to early reading, communication, play and school readiness.
- Meet other families who may be joining us in Reception.
- Ask questions in an informal and relaxed setting.
- Discover how we support children to settle happily and confidently into school life.
Most importantly, your child will have the chance to feel what it is like to be part of our school community, helping them to become familiar with the environment and begin building positive relationships before they start Reception.
We know that children thrive when they feel safe, happy and excited about coming to school. Our Play & Stay sessions are designed to help make that transition as smooth and enjoyable as possible for both children and parents.
Our Play and Stay sessions are offered as follows:
Tuesday 8th December 2026 from 1:30pm to 2:30pm
Tuesday 12th January 2027 from 1:30pm to 2:30pm

Please note, we are unable to accommodate siblings at the events (excluding newborn babies). Attendance is for the child due to start school and their parents.
Nursery: September 2027
- If your child was born between 01/09/23 and 31/08/24 parents are invited to apply for the places in our nursery for September 2027.
- Applications must be made directly with Bexley Council school admissions
- Our provision provides 26 part time morning placements offering 15 hours per week from 8:30am to 11:30am.
Open Afternoon dates for prospective Nursery families will be released in the coming weeks.
The application window for Nursery places opens on 16th January 2027. The deadline for Nursery applications is 6th April 2027.
